The trusted voice of forestry in Nova Scotia

About Us

Forest Nova Scotia is the trusted voice of forestry in Nova Scotia, representing woodlot owners, contractors, mills and partners across the province.

As the province’s oldest, largest and most established forestry organization, we support a strong, sustainable forest sector by advocating for our members, bringing people together and working with government and the public to ensure forestry continues to play a vital role in our economy, environment and rural communities.

With a large portion of Nova Scotia’s forests privately owned, small woodlot owners are at the heart of our sector. We work to ensure their voices are heard while bringing industry, government and communities together to share knowledge and support balanced, science-based solutions.

Our goal is simple — a thriving forest economy in Nova Scotia. One that creates opportunities, supports communities and protects the environment.

Through events, education and initiatives like Our Trees and the Forestry Uncut podcast, we connect people, share knowledge and help tell the real stories of forestry — highlighting innovation, stewardship and the people behind the work.

At our core, we believe forestry is about more than trees — it’s about people, communities and ensuring Nova Scotia’s forests continue to thrive for generations to come.

A strong forestry sector starts with connection.
