It celebrates individuals who demonstrate vision, integrity, and a strong commitment to advancing forestry in Nova Scotia through leadership, collaboration and service to the sector.

Woodland Owner of the Year Award
The Nova Scotia Woodland Owner of the Year Award (WOYA) recognizes and rewards landowners for outstanding stewardship of their woodlands. It was developed to encourage woodlot owners to practice sustainable woodland management and to increase public awareness of the importance of private woodlands in Nova Scotia and good woodland management.

Chisholm Awards for Innovation in Forestry
The Chisholm Awards for Innovation in Forestry program is a national competition for young researchers who are passionate about a range of activities relevant to forest-based science, products using forest-based raw materials, process improvements, or other innovations throughout the forest sector value chain.
Individuals are invited to apply for a chance to receive $2,500 and national recognition
