Details:
White spruce is widely distributed across North America, but its ecological role changes depending on regional conditions. In this webinar, registered professional forester and forest ecologist Peter Neily examines how white spruce behaves across the Wabanaki–Acadian forest region, where it can function as a pioneer, mid-successional or late-successional species depending on site conditions. The session also explores how climate change may affect white spruce in Nova Scotia, since there is uncertainty in long-term projections due to the species’ capacity to adapt.
